The design for the labels of “Plagios”wines (“Plagios, white” and “Plagios, red”) produced by the Biblia Chora Winery, reflected the title by making use of the motion (plagios = sideways in Greek) of the bishop piece in a chessboard.
The two colors of the chessboard were used in the label, in an angle, so that painted inner white squares are coupled by the bottle’s dark glass. The colors are echoed in the seal of the bottle’s cork-stopper to indicate the type of the wine: white color for white and black for red.
A delicate golden symbol in the shape of a bishop-piece, the winery’s crest and an inscription of the wine’s name, complete the elegant composition of the label.
