The signage design for the biggest shopping mall in Thessaloniki features careful color coding for each shopping zone, a complete range of specially designed icons and a “key” icon/signage logo that indicates the place of each zone within the mall area for quick reference. The color coding is in fact a refined interpretation of a “color wheel” where primary and secondary colors represent each shopping “radius” that begins from the mall’s core while the icons contemporary look featuring beveled edges, different line thicknesses and a gray circular container are distinctive of every group of services rendered and refer back to the radial development of the mall “streets”. Finally the key icon/signage logo is both used as a design unification gesture but more importantly a “you are here” point with an edge.
