Freeform music video for the band "Marsheaux", for use on the television and any other band promo activity whatsoever. The only reference provided was a general sense of the required summery feels (the track dealing lyrically with the summer), as well as, limited photographic reference for a general aesthetic of sorts (heavy use of lens flares and a somewhat vintage & washed-out look). No other materials were provided by the band, photographic or otherwise, thus, the brief was essentially open-ended and, with a budget nearing null, we were left to our own devices creatively & execution-wise. Early in the process, it was decided that we should use a juxtaposition of somewhat surreal summery scenes with urban environments in order to reflect both the lyrical, as well as, the metronomic electronic context of the provided track. Towards this purpose, a series of video footage (both shot and stock) backplates were acquired, processed and painstakingly 3d-tracked. Afterwards, all required geometries were created, animated & shaded in 3d software and finally, composited with additional 3d elements, graded & edited upon the track.
